The Safina Lion Conservation Fund is made up of a small team of five trustees each with different strengths from a passion for conservation and the natural world, knowledge of lion behaviour and management, experience in finance management to experience working with small committees for charitable causes. We believe that together we can work to achieve our mission and charitable objectives to the best of our ability and we look forward to sharing with you all our ideas for the future.

As well as working as a close team, we also have two special committees made up of volunteers that work in an advisory capacity. The first is our committee of four conservation advisors formed in 2017 who offer feedback on the strategic work and the conservation projects that we plan to support. These advisors all have different skills, like our trustees, that are valuable to our work. These advisors all have different backgrounds, from research, the zoo industry but all have experience with the conservation of wildlife in the field.

The second is our committee of three education advisors formed in 2024, all of whom are experienced educators with experience in zoo based education. They will work to advise the trustees and to give feedback on the educational content available to the general public as well as sharing their knowledge and technical skills to create educational resources, reviewing educational content and assisting in educational and fundraising events at zoos and other venues.

By working with other experienced individuals we aim to ensure that the work we carry out is fulfilling our objectives to the best of our ability and in line with our transparent ethos. We believe strongly in accepting the knowledge and experience of others and that working together with them is crucial to the success of our charity and conservation as a whole.
